You walk into my room
Slow and tentative
Thumb to mouth
Hand to lovey: pink;
Chocolate Eyes wide
Peering over the side of my bed.

Dawn light streams through shut blinds;
Static cling hair pinches ruddy cheeks -
Long Lashes brush the sheet...


You climb in next to me
Thermal shirt:  purple, maroon, grey/green stripes
And snuggle close beneath the blankets
Full of Heat.

Little breaths
Shuddering heart:
Tiny Life and me -
Side by side.

I wrapped my arms around you.
Little Feet denting my thigh
Breathing in your thin fine hair.
You close your eyes and I close mine...
